Born from the world of the Octavia Saga, The Harpy Foundation is an emerging initiative inspired by stories, imagination and the belief that small acts of courage can change the world over time.
THe first spark
The Octavia Saga began as a spark. A return to imagination, wonder and the part of me that still believes in heroes.
I began writing during a season of watching my sons grow into their teenage years – that bittersweet space where children slowly begin becoming their own people. Turning them into fictional heroes became a way of staying connected to their hearts through story.
Inspired by my boys, by the fierce love at the centre of motherhood and by a longing for magik, courage and meaning in the world, I began building Octavia.
Somewhere along the way, the themes woven through the books began stepping beyond the page and into real life.
Courage.
Hope.
Resilience.
Guardianship.
And rising through darkness.
That spark became The Harpy Foundation.
