THe first spark
The Octavia Saga began as a spark. A return to imagination, wonder and the part of me that still believes in heroes.
I began writing during a season of watching my sons grow into their teenage years – that bittersweet space where children slowly begin becoming their own people. Turning them into fictional heroes became a way of staying connected to their hearts through story.
Inspired by my boys, by the fierce love at the centre of motherhood and by a longing for magik, courage and meaning in the world, I began building Octavia.
Somewhere along the way, the themes woven through the books began stepping beyond the page and into real life.
Courage.
Hope.
Resilience.
Guardianship.
And rising through darkness.
That spark became The Harpy Foundation.

The Harpy Foundation is still in its early stages.
For now, the focus is simple: allowing the idea to develop thoughtfully and exploring how the stories and values that inspired it might one day create meaningful impact beyond the page.
One spark has the power to ignite another.
And sometimes, the smallest sparks are where the biggest stories begin.
